Marlene is a Class A, LPGA Teaching and Club Professional with a spirited passion for teaching and playing golf. She is a National Champion of LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals and has also competed in three Major Championships, including two U.S. Women’s Open’s and the LPGA Championship.
Marlene was chosen as one of 50 Top Teachers by Golf for Women Magazine, and serves as the lead Golf Instructor at the Paddock Chevrolet Golf Dome and Brighton Driving Range, in Tonawanda, NY.
The game of golf was introduced to Marlene at a very young age at her family’s home business, the Walden Golf Driving Range in Lancaster, NY where her father was her instructor and coach.Her debut into tournament play began at age 9, and the love of tournament competition helped her as she become the leading scorer and only female member of her high school golf team, St. Mary’s, Lancaster, NY. In 2001 she was inducted into her high school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Marlene earned a golf scholarship to the University of South Florida (Tampa) where she competed on the golf team for four years, winning two Division I tournaments. In 1989 Marlene became a member of the LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals and continues to compete in professional tournaments on a part-time basis.
Marlene served as the Assistant Men’s Golf Coach at Medaille College (Division III, Buffalo, NY) for 8 seasons, 2006 – 2014.
With over 26 years of experience as an LPGA professional, she has dedicated herself to teaching students of all ages the skills necessary to help them reach their highest potential.
Marlene has a passion for teaching Junior golfers and has volunteered numerous hours to the Junior Golf program at Brighton Park in the Town of Tonawanda. Marlene has also volunteered as an instructor for The First Tee of Western New York at Brighton Park and is the Site Director of LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Western New York.
Marlene is an author of the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Handbook which has been created as a valuable reference tool used by LPGA-USGA Site Directors around the country and internationally.
Marlene recently became a Certified Assistant Coach for The First Tee of Western New York.
